Me also... and size 13 at that.

Like BK says... I will never need snowshoes... or even water skis!

New Balance makes golf shoes in 4E width. I believe they're the only ones
that do.

FootJoy makes XW, but those, I believe, are 3E. They may even be only 2E.

A couple of the Nike golf shoe models are cut surprisingly wide (very
uncharacteristic for the Nike brand in general). I have Fred
Flintstone-esque 3E width feet, and certain Nike "W" widths have fit me
okay.

If you like feeling the spikes through the sole of the NB's then go for
it. I bought a pair and really liked the comfort and feel. But, when I
got to the sixth hole I could tell you the exact position of each of the
spikes on the bottom of each foot. Tried numerous aftermarket air
cushion insoles and other insoles and nothing helped. Size 10.5 sitting
in the garage. If you want them I'll sell them to you.

I am now working my way through the Foot Joy line and see which ones I
like. I have a pair of 5 year old Adidas that I really like but they are
worn out and they don't make that model anymore.

I had the same problems with the Nike's that I did with the New
Balance's. I could feel the spikes through the the sole.

Thanks Thor for the link. I didn't see where they had the widths for
the sizes. I wear a very wide shoe and am always on the lookout for
some comfortable shoes. Did I miss were they had the widths?

i tried fj, adidas, nike, etonic, dexter, and i think a pair of ecco--edwin
watts, pro shops, etc. for my budget (tried to stay less than $100) i wound
up selecting (beleive it or not) a pair of walter hagan shoes from dick's
sporting goods--got em for around 70 bucks. they are not the bottom-line
product--about the middle of their line. very comfortable and plenty of
room for me in the toe. very pleased with my purchase.

And don't forget about their golf sandal either (depending on the
climate where you live).

I have wide feet--9 EEEE--and I've found that Footjoy works for me.
Tough to find decent shoes with those dimensions.

Glad to hear your recovery is nearing an end.

I suggest you go to the biggest store and try on all the brands. My
brother is a recent convert to Ecco golf shoes after using Foot-Joys for
a number of years. I also used Foot-Joys until I discovered the
lightweight Adidas shoes that are lighter than sneakers but still look
like a regular shoe. They seem to fit a little wider than most.

But even among a particular brand each shoe has a different fit. I
suggest you take your time and enjoy the process and try on everything.
I strongly recommend that you do NOT buy a shoe that you haven't tried on.

Dave

I am a fan of Bite shoes - I think they are the most
comfortable. They are very roomy especially in the
toe area.
