Subject: lessons - how long to improve?
I had 3 lessons

1) totally broke down grip, stance, ball placement

2) added wrist cock, more weight transfer

3) by this time... I was all fucked up! couldn't hit shit. She had me
stand w/ my feet togather & just swing w/ my arms. Amazing how straight
the ball goes when you put no body into it.

Soo about 1 1/2 months after lessons (season is bout over in NY), I
feel pretty good. I do better w/ a narrow stance & arm swing. I was
putting way too much body & hip into it . I'm not driving as far but
more acurate. I think next season I'll hit a few rounds & get a tuneup.
I think w/ a pro your really paying for a pro evaluation. It's hard to
pick up what were missing sometimes.

The instructor isn't going to let you go until her boat is paid off.

It has nothing to do with your progress.

It could take a while. Don't worry about it. It's much better than
the alternative of being a hack the rest of your life. The scores
you shoot today won't mean anything in 5 years, unless you
give up and go back to what seems "natural". Then 5 years
from now you'll be shooting the same scores.

I've been working with the same instructor now for 4 years. It took maybe 5
or 6 months for me to start hitting the ball the way I want to.
