What would be the best epoxy to get for a beginner? Also, what are some
good websites for these types of purchases?

Hello Bart, they sell the normal Devcon 2 ton which is ok, but IMHO you
want to purchase the "Shafting epoxy". That's absolutely the best. I've
been making knives since '79, and never had a knife come back from the
epoxy breaking loose.

My putter head came off about 3 years ago.
I didn't have anything handy but JB Weld.
That sucker is GLUED!

The standard place for this kind of stuff would be golfsmith.com.

MyOstrich.com would be a place where you could ask "what kind of epoxy
should be beginner use" and get a reliable answer.
