Subject: no bounce wedges???

I saw an ad in the Rocky Mountain News which struck me as odd:

Dimension Z Golf the leader in precision manufactured golf equipment
has developed a new line of ZERO BOUNCE wedges that have a tight sole
for all those fairway and tricky bunker shots. Available lofts 52i,
56i, and 60i. Right Hand Only! Your (SIC) for only $130.00 ea.

Mention this ad and receive all 3 for just $330.00!

I haven’t seen lofts referred to as 52i before.

I checked out

http://www.dimensionz.com/products.php, but didn’t see anything about
zero loft wedges.

The real odd thing with that ad is the offer of buying all 3 clubs.
One zero bounce wedge is attractive - three less so.

Zero bounce wedges are useful for tight lies. However, in any kind of
soft lie, they will hack and collect grass and dig in, and in sand
you'll have the same problem. If you can open the face, the additional
loft will always add some bounce, so you will be able to use the club
with a little bounce if necessary.

But personally I find that taking advantage of the versatility and
capabilities of my existing wedges is plenty of a workload. I suspect
that adding another wedge or two that were so different from the others
would make the 'feel' part of the wedge game much more difficult to
maintain.
