If memory serves, in 1995 (March 29 to be exact, which just happens to be Walt Frazier's birthday) Tiger played a match against Cink in Atlanta when they were both amateurs. Tiger and his Stanford teammates had just played in the Carpet Capital Classic in Dalton, GA. and Tiger was on his way to Augusta to play The Masters. They met at Druid Hills C.C. in an exhibition match between Stanford and Ga. Tech and Cink won 3&2. Cink previously had a 2-1 record against Tiger in amateur competition. So Cink is probably the most qualified of all people to step up against Tiger without backing down. He's done it before and won.

I can't say enough good things about Tiger Woods. I've been playing with him since I was about 17, and I just relish another opportunity to go against him in another playoff sometime. I think it's the real pinnacle of where our sport is right now, and I was up there for a little while." Would it be the end of the world if another player were to think - or even say - "Next time I'm going to beat his ass like he beat me today"? Am I wrong? Until someone gets as hungry as Tiger is to win, to be the victor on every shot, then it's Tiger in a landslide. Ed
