Whew! I was getting worried there for a minute. But Tiger shoots 66 in the final round of the Grand Slam to once again blow away the field. The worst part of it was having to sit through Jim Huber's sappy piece about whether Tiger was the greatest athlete of all-time. BTW, Huber made the statement that Pete Rose was the greatest hitter of all-time, but Derek Jeter was "far better in October when it counts." For the record, Rose's lifetime postseason average is .321 to Jeter's .314. However, Jeter does have a higher average if you just count World Series games. In 12 seasons Jeter is just over halfway to Rose's career # of hits. Call me in another 12 years, Huber. Next he'll be claiming that Reggie Jackson was a better slugger than Ruth, Aaron, or Bonds.

At best those comparisons are completely meaningless. What are they thinking? Alan

(He's made more outs than anyone in the history of the game! Of course, he's also had a billion more at bats than anyone in the history of the game but we'll ignore that fact because it doesn't support our argument.) -- jvdp http://www.rsgcincinnati.com
