Him and Dubai have been having a love-fest for years now. This is no
surprise as he whores himself out for a big payday. You'd think the best
player in the world from the US would make his first course in his own
country, maybe in an area that's deprived of good, championship courses
that could build up and area in the spirit of that "giving something
back" thing. Oh, ya, bottom line. I forgot.

Bottom line is right, but it isn't Tiger's bottom line at risk. He has
absolutely no track record as a golf course designer. Nobody other than a
oil sheik would risk $10M to $20M on an unknown designer.

All of this is as horseshit as "him and Dubai" (sic).

Name one person who had a track record before he ever built a course.
None of these golf pros actually do the first design, they have others
who do that. They just go to the site, look at the specs, and put
their name on them until they learn the trade, if they ever do.

Since you are first to correct anything and almost the first to shine
Tiger's boots, please note that "record before he ever built a course"
(sic too) with the incorrect use of pronouns, in light of Nancy Lopez
just to name one.

Besides, he repatriates some of that oil money. I think this is a win win

His name is worth something. And someone deciding to make this
investment can do research on his team's track record.

It is unthinkable that he wouldn't hire experienced staff to do a lot of the
work for him. And I see a lot of reasons why his sense of what is
challenging, fair, workable, etc. are not a bit beyond his ken. His name
alone as "designer" will, of course, attrack the mega-rich to pay outlandish
green fees and villa rents to play there...

And since the world he has known now for some 10 years or so is ABOUT mega
$$, he is just playing that game as well.

Like you said, it's his first course. It's bound to be over budget,
and likely will not be very good. I think Dubai is a perfect place
for it.

Like you've never kissed a big fat man in the mouth.
You didn't get that round mouth from eating square meals, I'll bet.
