This is a quick 'back of the envelope' comparison and Price Waterhouse Coopers have not audited my results so I reserve the right to say "oops" later. There are round-off differences too. In 2006, Tiger has entered 12 events that are 'official' on the PGA Tour. He has failed to complete 2 (one cut, one WD) and won 5. He has won 47.5% of the money possible[1] in those events. In 1975, Jack played 17 events. He won 5 (including The Masters and PGA Championships) and finished out of the top-10 twice (a T-14 and a T-18). He won 66% of the money available[2]. Tiger will undoubtedly play a couple more events in 2006. Chris Bellomy will now follow up with a Hogan-1953 comparison... Unfortunately, the GolfStats data[3] for all events does not go back that far. [1] Tiger: $6,351,563 Winners in those events: $13,367,480 == > 47.5% reference: http://pgatour.com/players/results/149765/2006 [2] Jack: $306,656.07 Winners: $464,500 == > 66.0% reference: http://golfonline.comfluent.net/cgi.pan$player&pga75&Jack_Nicklaus&pga?golfstats [3] http://www.golfonline.com/golfonline/golfstats/forms/0,,pgaSearch,00.html -- <-- Harry -- >

If not, why 1975?
