Howdy gang; Im all nutzed up right now. When I was a younger guy I was very strong and so wound up swinging at the ball mostly using my arms and hands. Now that Im an old geezer I lost most of my strength and I cant hit the ball worth a dam !!! All the guys I play with are 10 to 50 yards past me off the tee and hit way less iron than I can.I used to hit a 5 iron from 150 yds. but now I need a 5 wood to get there. I need to learn how to hit the ball using my legs, and shoulder turn. Are there any good drills that will help me learn how to do this??? I know this probably sounds silly but I have no idea how to make a swing using the body instead of the hands. Help please. Tia,Dale

Solution....workout with weights in order to tone up core strength, stretch exercises to keep flexible, as well as bike training, x-training, and walking machine thingy! Once a week is all that is needed.....you'll be back to hitting that ball properly within two weeks. Check your club fitting though...you may need to change the shafts. So sayeth a 67 y.o.! cheers david

You didn't say how old you are, or any physical problems. I play with guys that routinely shoot in the 80's and are in their 80's. Sure, they've gotten weaker, but also smarter. Their short games are where they save the strokes now. It now takes them 3 strokes to reach a par 4, but usually have no problem with the par 3's. You need help, but you need it on the range with a local pro.
