I guess we only get taped coverage today since the tee times were all moved
up? Surely CBS, TNT, USA, or TGC have something less interesting on that
could be pre-empted.

It's crazy. I heard they moved up the times cause they're worried about
storms but I just checked the Akron weather report and at 1:20 PM
their time, its 79 and mostly cloudy with a chance of afternoon
showers. They're making a lot fans mad.

Just the dumb ones. You can't schedule someone for a 2 PM tee time,
and then call him at 8 AM and tell him he's been moved to 9 AM. They
have to set the times the day before, and yesterday the forecast was
for an 80% chance of thunderstorms, possibly severe.
Whether CBS could have covered the golf live, and rescheduled the
Ellen DeGeneres tennis exhibition to start later, is a different
question.

The answer to your question is a big fat no. The US Tennis Open starts
tomorrow and that's a really big deal for CBS compared to golf so Ellen goes
on schedule and Tiger is taped.

CBS owns the broadcast rights and isn't about to give them away. They have
two hours of Tiger being potty trained video that they have been saving for
today.
