This pairing will produce the winner.

What the heck, I buy lotto tickets at 13,000,000: 1 so why not bet
against Tiger?

Tiger is not "leading", he is tied for the lead with Luke Donald.

The stat is 11-0 when leading or tied for the lead in a major after 54
holes.

Betting against Tiger would be better odds than winning the lotto. The
players within a couple of strokes are all capable of shooting a 65 or
66, and Tiger, a 67 or 68. I think, however, playing in the same
pairing with Tiger is bad news. Isn't it true that his fellow
competitor almost always shoots his worst score in the last round?

I'd bet at even odds that Tiger will lose to someone in the group ahead
of him, not with whom he's paired, when he finally does lose after
having or being tied for the lead after 54 holes. The implication is,
playing in the same twosome probably costs the other guy a couple of
strokes.

Here's a funny thought. There's a reasonable chance a bet like that
would never be settled!

Well, let's see here. Tiger doesn't win about three times out of
four. You win the lottery about one time in 100 million. Mumble
mumble, carry the one.... yup, you're right.

I don't think so. There was a lot of "well Tiger has to lose sometime" when
talking about him leading after the 3rd round of a major. He'll use that for
motivation and make it 12-0.
