Subject: Slow start in the Ryder Cup (no mention of scores!)

I was listening to the start of the Ryder Cup on the way into work this morning and the BBC commentators were remarking on how long Jim Furyk was taking over his putts (helped by lots of discussions with Tiger). By the 4th hole, the following match was being held up. Just seen on the BBC website that the match has been warned about slow play. I've never heard of this in matchplay. I can't imagine that they could penalise anyone.

F Harrington is pretty slow, so he's unlikely to complain. He's out in the first match in the afternoon, so he'll have a quick lunch. The first fourball match took 5 1/2 hours!

Anyway, it=B4s the best possible start for the US team, Tiger getting into the stride and looking more and more ominous. F
