Hi, Along with my 16 year old son, I'm going to Ryder Cup practice day tomorrow (Tuesday). Not having been to a professional tournament before, can anyone offer advice or tips as to what to take along, what to do, (plus what not to take or do!) and (if known) where to go on the K Club course? Thanks. Sam

You might want to start your tour of the course on 18 green and walk towards 1 tee. That way, you'll see all the holes, and all the players that are on the course. Once that's done, return to an interesting spot near a green to watch incoming shots...a long par 3 for example. Then, spend time at a tee where they're all hitting driver to hear what it's supposed to sound like. And then some time in the fairway on a long par 4 to watch the players hit long irons into the green. Have fun.

Don't take: cell phone, camera. At the President's cup practice rounds I liked to pick up a group at the first tee, follow them for several holes, wait for the next group, lollow them for several holes, and so on. That way you see the whole course, and most of the players. My favorite President's cup was when Arnie was captain. He told Stricker, man, I wish I had that swing. To which Stricker replied, I wish I had your money. That's another bonus of the practice rounds, sometimes the captains play. Arnie took turns playing with almost everyone on the team, so I got to see Arnie play almost the whole 18 holes. Another good moment was when Arnie crushed one, and turned around to Stricker and said - blew it by you that time young man. Stricker then turned up his club, he had hit a 5 wood. :-) I am jealous! Have fun!
