The problem I have with American coverage of any event is the focus on
emotion and sentimentality--such as the obsession with death and
misfortune in the lives of the golfers. I wish Jimmy Roberts would
lose the ability to speak.
These announcers are like a bunch of thirteen year old girls watching
a movie of the week about someone dying of cancer.
The Director: "Quick, zoom in on Darren Clarke. I see a tear in his
eye. Cue Jimmy Roberts."
