Subject: Phil vs. El Tigre - sigh - again

TW and Phil - both had golf clubs whilst still in diapers. Both
excelled at the Junior and Collegiate levels. TW considered a
"prodigy", but Phil was a prodigy in his own right.

Now...why does TW have almost double the wins and quadruple the majors?
Why does Phil fail down the stretch?

Phil's long game has been his nemesis ever since round 4 of the US
Open. Let's face it. The guy's been making lots of loose swings
during crunch time....but...why??

Does Phil need to train like a "world class athelete" and look like one
too? Have Phil's nerves taken such a beating that he'll never be the
same again (like Norman)? Is Phil's career in the majors all but over?
If Phil never wins another major, who can he be compared to in the
history books? I'd say he'd be in the same caliber as say... Norman,
Faldo, etc...but won't be in the same "league" as say...Nicklaus,
Hogan, Hagen, Palmer, Snead, and Player...

You can't judge Tiger against anyone of his era, not if the exercise is
to determine merit based upon a singular comparison... Tiger is beyond
the relational math, so to speak... Phil has what 29 PGA wins and 3
majors... he's looking at what? maybe 37-45 wins over his career and
maybe a major or two more, if he gets on another roll... say, 45 wins
with 5 majors puts him with the true greats...

Just my view here but Norman as a major contender was not in the same
time zone as Faldo or Ballesteros, no matter how many shirts and hats
and bottles of wine he's sold... head to head Nick and Seve were just
too clutch for him...

Phil is a tremendous success, he's one of the best of all time,
possibly in the top 10.

His biggest lack is his misfortune to be measured against Tiger.
