Liberal groups expect postelection results Activists who helped Democrats secure Congress make clear they intend to get their reward. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/washingtondc/la-na-dems12nov12,0,4533842.story?track=mostviewed-homepage Some of the very activists who helped propel the Democrats to a majority in the House and Senate last week are claiming credit for the victories and demanding what they consider their due: a set of ambitious - and politically provocative - actions on gun control, abortion, national security and other issues that party leaders fear could alienate moderate voters and leave Democrats vulnerable to GOP attacks as big spenders or soft on terrorism.

As for abortion, I believe the liberal position is basically to maintain the status quo. So I guess the writer here is full of shit. Democrats have been under attack from the GOP for years, more so in the last six, and have survived. It's so much better to be looking who gets rewarded as the victorious party than who to blame from the losers. That looks like a game you can play for several years to come. Maybe start at the top and work down..........if there is any lower to go.
