Even though she's probably raising everyone's income (like Tiger did when hejoined the tour). At worst, ....? Bill

That fact has already been established. What else would you like us to say? She beat 2-time Major winner John Daly and another Major winner, Todd Hamilton ... not to mention all the guys like Azinger who withdrew for mysterious reasons. And those guys probably didn't have to worry about homework and stuff. BTW, how does Michelle Wie manage to go to school in Hawaii and play all over the world? I never have figured that one out. I guess she has a nice laptop.

But I don't remember the exact stat. Didn't find the obscure record of strikeouts vs. one team, but the following NYY records are still held by Ruth: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teams/new_york_yankees_records.shtml Single season: Bases on Balls Batting average OBP Runs Slugging avg. Total bases Career: Bases on Balls Batting average HR by a lefthander OBP Runs Slugging avg. Total bases Caught stealing That last shows he wasn't afraid to run the bases. Remember that he started out as a pitcher and was quite a > good one. Ruth was a power hitter no because that was all he could do, > but because that was what he chose to do. In his day, hitting home runs > was pretty rare. The Babe would be a great DH today but he wouldn't have a chance running bases or chasing balls. He wouldn't have a chance on the mound. Let's face it, The Babe was an overweight gentleman that loved to have fun. Did he have fantastic hand/eye coordination coupled with fantastic hand speed? Absolutely. Does that make him a great athlete? I think it does. But some fat guy that can run 11 racks of 9 ball or hit 50 home runs a year or shoot further under par than his professional peers is also a great athlete. Can they win the pentathlon? Hell no. Not a chance. But the guy that wins the pentathlon probably can't hit a golf ball--probably has no hand\eye coordination. So what make a great athlete? From dictionary.com: Athlete: a person trained or gifted in exercises or contests involving physical agility, stamina, or strength; a participant in a sport, exercise, or game requiring physical skill By definition, it seems to come down to physical skill. Let's define physical skill: Physical: 1. of or pertaining to the body: physical exercise. 2. of or pertaining to that which is material: the physical universe; the physical sciences. 3. noting or pertaining to the properties of matter and energy other than those peculiar to living matter. 4. pertaining to the physical sciences, esp. physics. 5. carnal; sexual: a physical attraction. 6. tending to touch, hug, pat, etc.; physically demonstrative: a physical person. 7. requiring, characterized by, or liking rough physical contact or strenuous physical activity: Football is a physical sport. Let's define skill: 1. the ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well: Carpentry was one of his many skills. 2. competent excellence in performance; expertness; dexterity: The dancers performed with skill. 3. a craft, trade, or job requiring manual dexterity or special training in which a person has competence and experience: the skill of cabinetmaking. 4. Obsolete. understanding; discernment. 5. Obsolete. reason; cause. Was Babe Ruth an athlete? Is Tiger an athlete? Otto

I guess a video game player is too.

I just looked at my wordweb dictionary; GOLF A game played on a large open course with 9 or 18 holes; the object is use as few strokes as possible in playing all the holes. TENNIS A game played with rackets by two or four players who hit a ball back and forth over a net that divides the court. No advantage to tennis by the looks of it - I guess when physical weeds like Mac/Sampras can dominate it can't really be athletic....? I mean what other sport would they be considered athletic in....?
