I'm taking an informal survey to see what percentage of people on this
newsgroup play golf.

How many times a week do you play?

How many times a week do you practice or hit balls?

Do you spend more time on golf or politics?

In the winter? Zero.

Spring/summer/fall about 2 or 3 times per week, couple more trips to
the range and/or putting green... what's your point? :)

Once a week at most.

0. I haven't been to the range since hurricane Katrina.

Good question. I took a vacation from this group for a while because
I was tired of the trolls and politics but I see things haven't
changed. To better answer your question I spend less time on golf now
that I did in the past because of a new hobby I'm involved with that
helps children's organizations. In fact this weekend I'm doing Toys
for Tots with the Marines.

As often as I can. I pretty much play 9 holes in the late afternoon, I
can usually get in 3 nines in a week or more. I almost never golf on
weekends.

> How many times a week do you practice or hit balls?

Never...at least I can hope! Nothing hurts my game more than hitting
balls.

I spend zero time on politics, so that's a no brainer. I'll talk about
politics though, but that's not like actually doing it, like I actually
do golf.

Couple of times a week in the warmer season. Down from what it use to
be.

> How many times a week do you practice or hit balls?

Once a month, down from 5 times/wk.

Same amount. Actually most of my free time is spent boating with my
wife. We just acquired our third 25 foot cruiser in one year.
Basically went from good, to better, to best.

A lot more, since we moved from Pittsburgh to Atlanta, and my course is
five minutes from my home!
I'm probably on the course or range 4-5 times/week. It may be only an
hour of practice, or nine holes, but I'm there.

As often as I can. In the spring, summer and early fall that can be 2
to 3 times a week. In the winter it depends on the weather and lately
that sucks. Played tuesday for the first time in at least 3 weeks. Too
much of the pineapple express.

practice? Not often. If I have time to hit balls I have time to play
and I'll play over practice any day.

I don't understand political junkies. Arguing over stuff with people
that will never change their minds. Seems futile and boring. I have
been kfing all the political threads lately and man did the post count

In the winter, maybe once or twice per month. In the summer 3 or 4
times per month.

>How many times a week do you practice or hit balls?

A year ago it was 5 times. I've had to cut down to 3 times this year
- it hurts and I also stole time from golf practice to do
cardiovascular exercise.

When the range is unavailable due to weather, as it was 2 weeks ago, I
skip it.

I used to play 3 or 4 times a week, at least, but on a cheap executive
type course where
I had a monthly membership. It was cheaper than hitting range balls.
But that was a couple
years ago. This past year, I've probably played less than 10 rounds
total all year.

>
> How many times a week do you practice or hit balls?

Since last summer, when I started my latest series of lessons, I've
practiced probably
10 times as often as I've played. I don't really care if I play, or
how well I play right
now. I'm looking forward to next year, though. I'll probably play a
little more then.

Yes.

I have political opinions, but this is a golf group.

Total of 4 times all of this year. Wish it was more though. At the

Temps above 55 and dry, every day, wet or below, almost never.

Only when something is going wrong.

I play golf to forget about politics. Golf is a 3 hour round, politics surrounds you 24/7, make no mistake about it.

Golf? What's that?

play - 2 or 3 times a month
practice - does warm up before a round count? If yes, 2 or 3 times a month.
If no, no.
golf or politics - I don't pay any attention to asshole politicians, they
are nothing but a bunch of criminals, all of them in both parties - golf is
way ahead of the uninformed, soundbite assholes.

What's with all the soft questions?

You should be asking things like,

How many times have you been arrested sniffing bike seats at the junior
high?

If your dog could talk, would you be arrested for "animal husbandry"?

How could you vote for Bush........TWICE?!

I guess you could call what I do "playing golf" although some would
liken it to killing snakes. Weather permitting I always play twice a
week with our weekend gangsome and usually at least once or twice during
the middle of the week. Weather is being good to us right now, temps in
the low 80's this afternoon, so I'll either be playing or practicing
today.

Practice? Probably average three large buckets a week plus chipping and
putting time.

Golf vs politics? No contest - golf 99%, politics >1%.
