Subject: Norman buys controlling interest in MacGregor

Greg Norman has bought a controlling 51% stake in MacGregor Golf.

In return, MacGregor will acquire the Greg Norman Collection clothing
line, which is a significant (US$200 million in sales per year) chunk of
Great White Shark Enterprises.

It's Norman's first move back into golf equipment since he bought, then
sold Cobra, for a return of US$40 million.

Acushnet took over their own marketing of Titliest and Cobra in
Australia a few years ago. They had a lot of job ads for staff at the time.

Not any more apparently. He's just signed on with MacGregor as part of
the deal.

You may remember me. I used to be called Howard U. Dewing, but only one
guy ever answered the question.

That would continue. There was no mention of Norman taking it over. I
don't think he'd be interested.

After Jack bought and ruined Macgregor, it'll be an uphill battle.
