So last night I'm watching the 15 minute recap of Bridgestone, and they spend about five minutes going over the top scores of the day. Then they proceed with a ten minute replay of the PGA and Tiger's win. Even the wife, who is a bigger Tiger fan than I am, says, "Uh, guys, that was last week and unless you live under a rock you know that Tiger won!" Anyway sandwiched between the normal Tiger praises of David Farraday, they show some interviews of other players regarding Tiger. Shaun Micheel says something to the effect that even with Tiger's B game, other players' A games can't match him. Probably true. But it's the attitude that most of the players have...that he can't be beaten. Luke Donald, however, in commenting on Tiger's last round, said, "He hit some good shots and his putts were dropping." That is equally true, but it seems to exhibit a different mind set that realizes that sometimes luck does play a role in a round or too. Yeah, Tiger makes his own luck for the most part. But I think Donald's attitude doesn't allow the mindset that the guy can't be beaten to creep in.
