Subject: Let's stop it

It is maybe time we all stepped back and took a good look at oursleves.
For those of us, that have forgotten that this group is about golf and
it's betterment, and not a place for personal vendettas and soapboxes.
I am going to take a long hiatus from RSG. The fighting, cliques,
inroading, etc just don't make it a fun place to be anymore. It is not
me, or you, or any specific one of us, it is a lot of us. It is a
collective blame, not one for a given individual or a given clique.

When it gets so personal, that some would even consider calling one's
employer, or that posts go on for days about a particular individual,
it is time to say enough is enough. There are a lot of tensions and
rivalries on this group. Yet, individually, you are delightful people.
There is something about being distanced from others, sometimes by
thousands of miles or even with an ocean in between, that makes
perfectly normal and delightful folks behave in a very strange way.

Please don't flame me or start another 200+ post thread over this. I
am begging you to keep this serious. Let us just realize that we are
all individuals. We bring to this forum all types of issues personal
and professional. We need to leave these issues behind when we come
here. Golfing has brought more joy to my life than you can imagine.
For many of you, I am sure the same applies. Let us going forward
translate the joy golf brings us to more postive interactions with each
other.

Good luck to everyone here. . Hope you'all can work it out, I will
certainly am all for it. And if I ever decide to return, I hope it
will be to a more postive environment. I will certainly do my share
going forward to see that is stays that way.

Thanks for listening. Take care guys

Yeah, but this remake is in IMAX 3-D. It's bigger, better and more in your
face.

So have the masses.

I've stayed completely out of this fray, but it's only fair to mention,
ironically, that the one and only time I ever wrote a "peace-nick" post to
RSG, Mr. manic-depressive-drama-queen was the one who jumped in and pissed
all over it. So, see ya Eric. Don't let the door hit you in the

You know, Eric, no one asked you to leave, that I'm aware of,
anyway. But then again, no one asked you to start the
various "CumWad" and "Hemmaroid" threads, either. But
one has to wonder about the timing of your departure and
"the big bet". Has the check been wriiten to the Alzheimers
Foundation yet? :-)

Here's an idea, instead of slinking off, why don't you be
up front about it, and say something like, "OK guys, you
got me, I don't really have 3 degrees, all summa cum laude.
I actually have one degree with a double major, SCL,
and an associates degree where I finished 2nd in my class.
But I aint paying up, so sue me!"

Or whatever the truth may be.

Well I've been reading this group for several years. The cast changes
but the plots and episodes are remarkably similar - brainless trolls,
idiotic yappers, holier-than-thous, and well-meaning soapboxers.

IMO the key is to never spend too much time here, and never expect much
serious dialogue. Any more mental or emotional investment will be a big
let-down.

Perhaps it'd be different if I attended a few of the local events, but I
hardly have time to play practice rounds, so oh well.

I'm sure you would. I didn't say that I made 40k per month, I said I
make 3 or 4 times as much as you do. You pick your year in the last 5
and send me your tax return and I'll do the same. I'll take '01. Or we
can average the last 5 years if you like. If I would have known that I
was going to have to prove my income level to you I wouldn't have taken
a half of a year off in '03, '04, and '05 to travel and play golf and I
would have gone to work before April 20 this year.

OR, let's have even more fun and compare number of golf rounds for the
last couple of years.

Sounds good, though the bet HAS to be for $5,000, otherwise it's not worth
anyone's while. And the money has to be held in escrow. Since I spoke to
Bill-O this weekend and found out he planned to use the 5K for a golf trip
to the Dominican Republic, we can no longer consider him trustworthy.

Considering that, I have decided to step up for the good of RSG and hold the
escrow for you sweethearts. You can send the money and the tax returns to
me, make sure your social security numbers are plainly visible, and I will
be judge, jury and hangman.

Yeah, it=B4s healthy to take a hiatus from usenet every now and then. I
always do - sometimes for months, a year, or even longer. Usenet is
like some celestial caf=E9 where everybody wears a mask. A few will
accept you, others don=B4t. In the end it doesn=B4t matter. It=B4s only
words. A bit naive to become offended. We sometimes have a pale sort of
fun. We get swing advices too - crap mostly, but not all of it. And
when you die nobody really cares. So, after all, RSG is human destiny
in a nutshell. F

It's a nice sentiment, but the people you are talking about are a bunch of
paranoid schizophrenics. Anything you post that isn't about them or doesn't
involve them is, in their mind, some sort of threat, some sort of plot. You
and I getting together, playing some golf and talking about it here is, in
their eyes, an attempt to one up them. If you are not out to get them, and
try to say so, you threten thier sense of self worth. I think of it as the
balck helicopter mentality. They cannot be so irrelevant that no one cares,
so the blackhelicopters must be out to get them. Here, if you indicate you
don't care, they try to make you care. A very typical psychosis of usenet
newsgroups. Only a few of these characters, but they are enough. You want
to talk golf, you have to go somewhere else. Doesn't mean you can't meet
good people here though, and get together from time to time, as we have
done many times.

K-1 ? What does that have to do with Income?

"The fiduciary of a decedent's estate or trust uses Schedule
K-1 to report your share of the estate's or trust's income,
credits, deductions, etc. Keep it for your records. Do not file it
with your tax return. A copy has been filed with the IRS."

You too. FWIW, agree with most of what you said.
I just got tired of wasting my time with the bunch

Apart from half a dozen who still retain a smidgeon of

Hi Hammer,

I waited to let them do what you and everyone knew they would--

Forget being "sincere" with a bunch of guys who post on RSG primarily
because they enjoy the anonmity of the Internet and especially the lack
of "rules" on the Usenet. They may be fine in person, but like some
women drivers, this isolation gives them the opportunity to enjoy their
hatred-- and it is deep and wide. Those who are regulars here are
nasty SOBs. Forget being "nice" to them because they are NOT
interested in being nice to you or anyone; that is not fun for them.

Don't cross one of them! You can get flipped off by a nun!.

Nothing worse than a little chick with big hair driving a black Camaro
with dents on both sides and red cellophane taped over the broken tail
lights, expired license plates. She will run right over you if you
challenge her! When she turns that key she goes into a fury--
tailgates, speeds, runs stop lights, and shakes her fist or flips off
any transgressor.

But when she is out of the car she is charming. Amazing. =20
