I saw a movie yesterday with Patrick Swayze playing an American golf pro in an English town who was trying to seduce the Vicar's wife. It was a black comedy - her mother (played by Maggie Smith) was a crazy killer. So when they lovers are talking about their plans in front of other people, they used golf terms. They could have used more that we have all heard though.

I got reprimanded once by my dumb manager, because I used the term black comedy to a technician. He was black, and she was black, and they both though it was a racial slur, even though he had a college degree. One of the incidents that helped me decide to retire.

I hadn't heard the term "dark comedy" before. IMDB's review http://imdb.com/title/tt0444653/ says "black comedy". Google finds 4,120,000 occurrences of "black comedy", and 1,660,000 occurrences of "dark comedy". No, I think "black comedy" is correct.
