Subject: Jay Haas - All Time Cuts Made

Going into this season PGA Tour.com has the all-time cuts made list at :
1 Kite 587
2 Floyd 583
3 Haas 575
4 Littler 566
5 Ford 561
6 Palmer 543
Jay has made 11 cuts in a row this year which should put him just 1 behind
the all-time record, but I haven't heard anyone talking about it.
Seems to me the press should be covering this - the guy is 50 & still making
cut after cut on what are arguably the deepest fields ever.
Any thoughts??

He plays in a lot of tourneys? Kite probably averaged 26 tourneys a year.
That's a lot in today's events given the amount of prize money available.
But is this really an accomplishment? (he looked better in those large
glasses he wore then)

Oops! Just realized that Kite has actually made 2 cuts this year (Sony &
Wachovia), so Jay is still 3 back (589 to 586).

I was going to say that Tom Kite still plays regular tour events and quite
often makes the cut. It may be neck and neck for the rest of the year. After
that I guess it depends how often they'll be playing on each tour.

I'm not sure how up-to-date the PGA Tour website keeps that information.
Look at the consecutive cut streak stats at the top of the page. Tiger's
streak is only shown up to November of last year.

It's updated at the end of the year - that's why I added Haas' 11 cuts made
& Kite's 2 cuts made this year. Still a pretty big discrepancy from both
sites though.
SI - Kite 603 Haas 589
PGA.com - Kite 589 Haas 586
Either way - it appears that Haas will own this record if he keeps making
cuts (13 in a row at this point).
