It seems to me that it took a while for Jack to be considered by half
of the fans to be GOAT. He had to overcome Hogan and even Palmer.

I know that GOAT is a matter of opinion - we don't all agree on what
criteria to use. But in various years if we voted for GOAT, there
might be historically a half dozen winners. It would be interesting
to speculate on who would be the winners in different years.

Yes, but it's like the difference between porn and art. Hard to describe,
but you know it when you see it. Tiger is "it".

Half the fans think he's a GOAT, and the other half thinks he's a
jackass.

There won't be much of a debate once Tiger's career is over...Like him
or not, he's going to smash all of the records.

LOL. What was TW's response?

He politely explained that he can't sign autographs in the same places
other golfers do because the crush of people endangers the kids. He
said that one barrier was already knocked down that week.

Yeah, some people get so worked up on how Tiger responds to questions
and interviews. The guy is THE most followed and scrutinized athlete in
the world, I couldn't imagine being that famous. For that reason I
think we can cut him a little slack, he has to be SO careful of his
actions and words...

He does a much better job than I could ever do of acting like he
hasn't heard the same questions 50 times before. No wonder his
answers are canned; he could just hand out the same answers before
each week's press conference, and cover 95% of the questions. About
the only new one I've heard in the past month was from that Chinese
asshole, asking why Tiger hates children.

Oh dear, are you trying to involve it in a conversation?

Good analysis.

I wish TW was easier to like, in that he was more personable, like
Peter Jacobsen or Palmer. OTOH, Jake and Arnold may have become a
different people had they incurred the same success and pressure Tiger
lives under every day. Given this, I've accepted TW personna,
believing he's doing the best he can, on the course and off.

Personally, I'd hate to be famous.

I'd have to disagree with you here, I don't know many that have that
opinion of Tiger. If your a golfer, how can you not admire what the guy
is doing right now? Forget about the stupid stuff you don't like, what
do those things have to do with his game?

Tiger is all about winning and that's it, he's got that killer
instinct. His competition isn't really the current generation of
players, he's playing against the greats of all-time like Nicklaus,
Hogan, Snead, etc....I'd say he is pretty far ahead too...

I was thinking of getting my ass gilded, but I didn't have enough cash,
so I just had my ears lacquered.

He hates children because they don't always recognize him and kiss his
gilded ass like all the media drones do.
