I'm relatively new to golf, so could someone explain why professional
golfers remove their hats as soon as they finish the18th hole, even before
shaking hands, or waving to the crowd? In fact, I saw the caddies without
their hats on today at the PGA tournament immediately after Tiger won. Why
is that?

I'm here, but the guy who snipes at fivey is an imposter. Oh well, can't
pass up on an invitation like that...

Fivey, when the school bus picked you up, was it one of those short ones?

It's a sign of respect to remove your hat to shake someones hand.

Sounds logical. I guess I'm too used to NASCAR drivers putting ON hat after
hat after a race, and hockey players leaving their helmets on after a
play-off series to shake hands, and baseball players leaving their hats on
while congratulating each other after a win that I never thought of it that
way.

I am not surprised at all by NASCAR driver and hockey player behavior.
