Hi, guys.

Don't check in here much anymore ... guess you have to be playing golf
to want to chat it about it ... but my attention is still drawn to the
sport by various & sundry items, like this one.

I make no claims about Newnham's prowess or vision as a golfer, but
he's shown an interest over the years. Also, perhaps this is an old
topic ... Scott, I'm sure Chip has kept you apprised ... anyway here's
a nice article some of you guys might enjoy.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, everyone ...

Thanks Dave...great to hear from you. Hope the music is treating you
well. Tried to swing by in late August when Dug, Debbie, Kelly and I
played at Classic before hitting the Steely Dan concert and then
heading up to Bob Cotter's RSG Border Wars tourney, but you were
gone....probably playing that sweet cornet eh? :-)

Hope all's well and that you have a great holilday. Thanks for the
article....I have heard good things about this course. I'd like to
play it around February 2008 and see if it drains like a true links
course. It better for $125. That the true test of any course worth
its salt in Puget Sound, IMHO.

Maybe we'll see you in May?

Thanks for the early present, Dave. I'll look forward to playing it
once it's gotten the bugs ironed out. Frankly, I liked your home
course. Newell described it as excellent "bang for the buck", and, I
agree.

You still out blowing your own horn? Literally?

Hope all is well. Merry Christmas.

Never can tell about May. I haven't played for quite a while.
Definitely won't have a handicap ... other than the way I play, I mean.
Don't think I got out in '06 and probably only four or five times in
'05. I keep telling myself I'm going to start playing again, but
somehow haven't made it happen yet.

Been playing a lot of music the last couple of years. Probably average
15 gigs a month. Living out here in the sticks and having to travel
into Seattle that often kind of keeps me preoccupied. Being a "full
time" musician is not as financially rewarding as engineering was, but
it's better for the soul, you know?

There have been times when I long for my days as a sideman, but it's
been fun, regardless. I have some amazing musicians working with me,
and I can't imagine what else I'd rather be doing ... as a job, I mean.
:)

I guess the one benefit that I'll have when I get ready to start
playing golf again is that never having been too good, it shouldn't
take me long to regain my old form! :)

Have a good Christmas Scott, Dug ... and everyone else ... and a
prosperous next year.

Dave
