I know ABC are the official whipping post for golf TV watchers, but I always
liked Tirico. He was always professional in the way he handled himself on
air, he seems like a nice guy, and he lets the other guys make the dumb
comments, for the most part.

Since it looks like we'll be treated to Terry Gannon for the last few ABC
broadcasts, I'll miss Mike that much more. With any luck, he'll be available
for next year's British Open coverage.

I agree with you regarding Mike Tirico. He is an excellent
sports commentator.

My father marshalled a few British Opens and he always said that
Mike Tirio was a true gentleman. He always took time to talk to
people and actually listen. My father once spoke with him for
some time at St. Andrews and found him to be very knowledgeable
and friendly.

The same can be said of Terry Gannon. One of the nicest persons, and
more knowledgeable, you will ever meet in Sports Television.
