Had time to kill today[it's snowing in the Highlands]so I pulled out the old videos of the above that my son bought. Forgot how many good points he really did make in his drills. After looking at them all through [8 cassettes!] it all comes down to one thing as far as I can see. Secret is " A one piece take away" that's it. He's made a wedge of cash from it!

I got something different; Hold on to the club through impact to try and promote a square clubface from takeaway through impact and beyond. I'm still fighting the impulse to "hold" the clubface after impact; I wish I had never seen his method!

Not Dalton: the other people in his venture: I was told by a videographer familiar with it that the infomercial took in $10M. He got $500K and had to pay ALL expenses, ending up with nothing for himself.

I remember those tapes. I always liked watching them, and remember how he is big on releasing those hands early, right from the top. CJ

McCrary was built like a strand of cooked spaghetti. He was an amazing physical specimen (which precludes people like me from using his method). Roverii

Was Dalton in your opinion a victim of a business scam? CJ

PRODUCING a 30 min. thingee is very expensive to begin with, and then airing it comes next. Then producing the DVDs, then packaging them, sending them to the shipper, taking orders, processing them, shipping, and finally, paying the fees in connection with the charge services. First there is the video and audio setup, with usually at least two cameras and mikes. Then later, the $500,000 editing equipment needed to reduce everything to a master tape "rents" at hundreds of dollars a day, and editing takes a LONG time, playing, replaying, identifying breaks, adding thises or thats, and so on. I am told that the cost of producing a Golf Channel 1/2 hour informercial with the bells and whistles is easily $500,000 now. I do not know the cost for half-hour segments of TV all to yourself, but when I did some one minute stuff several years ago in a LOCAL MARKET ONLY my minimum per minute cost was a couple hundred dollars. I assume McCrary's costs easily used up "his share" of the revenues.

Now taking in a bit of blarny I still think he makes a few bob more than he did teaching. Wife asked me to turn the sound down when the Golf owner chap came on but, like me,she enjoyed Dalton's "cotton picking speech" Funny how he said release from the top when other teachers say drop the arms down the slot. Very good teacher though with a great swing.
