That awful golfer with the 15-handicapper swing, Craig Parry, has decided to call it quits on the USPGA Tour. This week's Funai Classic is the last event he will play (he's 3-over T139 after the first round so he looks like finishing Friday). Parry has a 10-year exemption on the Japan Tour that runs out next year. He has a two-year exemption on the USPGA Tour that runs out this year. He has never wanted to live in the USA, preferring to commute from Sydney. With age and a growing family, Parry has decided to commute to Japan to play rather than the USA, since it's in the same time zone as Australia. Parry will probably be remembered for three events during his time on the USPGA Tour: * Blowing the 1992 Masters with a 78 after leading by one shot into the final round. * Holding the record for the most tournaments without a win on the USPGA Tour, before his success in the 2002 WGC NEC Invitational in Seattle. * That holed 6-iron for eagle in the playoff against Scott Verplank, to win the 2004 Ford Championship at Doral. Parry leaves with $10.6 million in prize money. May his career continue in Japan, as well as back here in Australia. -- Cheers Colin Wilson ------------------------------------------------------------------ Trentham Golf Club: http://www.trenthamgolf.com Barnbougle Dunes: http://publishing.kyneton.net.au/barnbougle ------------------------------------------------------------------

Tiger Woods has earned over 9 million in ONE year... and wouldn't it be interesting to see what Snead's earnings would be if his career could be superimposed into the present, with the same results? I don't think his total ever reached $1 million. -- Loudon R. F "A swing that would make Ben Hogan puke." Famous last words before a holed out 180 yard six iron....

F Maybe, but I heard some crazy stat a year or two ago that he hadn't 3 putted in about 2 years on tour.

Doesn't have anything to do with that e-boli spinach problem we've had here recently, does it? Randy

I don't think Craig spends too much time at the salad bar.

X-No-Archive: Yes His win in the 2002 WGC-NEC gave him a five years exemption which would have run out at the end of the 2007 season (next year). I think his decision has lot more to do with the fact that he is playing awful golf now rather than anything else... Here is a portion of his record this year: Current Year PGA TOUR Money and Position $272,205 (179) That dismal record of money won for this year speaks volumes... Guru
