Subject: Clubhead speed stays same for all clubs - isn't that strange?
|
Hi, I just spent a few hours on a golf simulator selecting a new utility wood. During this session we found out that my club-head speed does not increase for longer clubs, as one would expect. 5 iron showed 80 mph. 3 wood: 80 mph. Driver? 80 mph. Hmm. For a minuted we questioned the equipment but a few test srokes by the instructor quickly ruled that out. He went from 80mph (5i) to 91mph (3w) and 102mph (driver). Has anyone ever experienced this or do you have an idea what coudl be causing this? Thanks for any feedback, Ronald

Sounds like you are adjusting your swing mechanics for the longer clubs. Are you trying to over control the longer clubs instead of letting them swing? Perhaps reducing the turn or weightshift? Perhaps you are casting the longer clubs?
