Subject: Cleveland Hi-Bore - looking for tips

I have both the Cleveland Launcher 330 and the 460 (both 10.5 degree with
regular Fujikura shaft) and love both. I had never hit a driver so
consistently long and straight (sometimes with a slight draw) as with these
two.

I just bought the Cleveland Hi-Bore with similar specs, and I'm really not
comfortable with it. I can't seem to hit it straight too often and even when
I do, I'm not as long. On the contrary, I seem to mainly hit horrendous
slices. If I pick up the 460 again, I hit it "normally".

Any tips to get this beast performing? Thanks in advance.

If you have 2 drivers that perform well, next time you have the urge to
spend more money on a third, why not donate it to the Salvation Army or
some other worthwhile charity instead of bemoaning your situation here.

No, but if I sold it I could get several years membership at a nice
club. I leave the putting to yes sophia, or kzg forged- both under
$100 (yes was used).

But, L&L, you *are* handsome and a good player. And a good person.
<g >

Lio: I share a lot of the previous posts here, but, you might also
look at the shaft specs, etc. to see if they are making a difference.
My 2 cents.

Strange. There was a time when this was a golf discussion group and one
could ask a golfing question and get a few interesting and relevant replies.

I don't need you guys to tell me I'm stupid - a) I'm a golfer, so it's a
pre-requisite and b) I can look an the mirror and tell myself I'm an idiot
for buying the club.

BTW - the Hi-Bore has a regular Fujikura shaft too - maybe it performs
differently because it's a different colour........ ;-) I suppose I'm just
the first person in history tempted to buy a new driver, thinking it might
go further than the old one ...... ;-)

if you don't want a stupid answer, don't ask a stupid question. You have
two drivers that you reportedly hit well, buy a third that you can't hit
worth shit, and you want advice on how to "get the beast to perform" ??

duh, sell it

Why get rid of a driver you're comfortable with? You're not really going to
gain any distance. Im still using a Titleist 983E. Im not any longer with
any of the new drivers. It will be in the bag till I cave in the face.
What shaft is in the Hi Bore?

Of course I didn't mean buy with sole intent as an investment, but I do
think about depreciation when something doesn't work out and I get the
idea to sell (especially $300+ for a single club).

OTOH, somethings turn out to be investments regardless of intent. Re:
my moniker, it refers to a guitar made in 1968. I bought it for $500
in 1980. There were some who doubted it was a good deal, they
disbelived and they mocked me. But the sad fellow who parted with that
guitar yesterday, is a lot sadder today. It's been in a lot of places
it shouldn't have been, but I do know, I bought it to play and I will
again.

Dor, Dor, it hurts when I ram my head into a brick wall!!!!

Seriously: ebay and hurry, percentage wise name brand golf clubs are
the worst investments in the world except for a few exceptions like
certain anser putters.

and fem putters are NOT wimpy! I hated the winn grip, I should have
put a paula creamer grip on it instead of a crossline b/w standard ;-)

I was initially looking for a 2nd kzg forged but they stopped making
it. After a few months of auto ebay searching, I got the idea of
trying the yes after watching Goose roll a few smooth ones. So I got
the negative loft plus nearly the exact same head so I can practice
indoors with the kzg with little or no adjustment and keep the yes in
the bag.
