An interesting dilemma has arisen for Ashley Prange, who won the Big Break V in Hawaii. She's currently 4th on the Futures Tour money list with 3 tournaments to go. The top 5 get their LPGA tour card for next year so all she has to do is play reasonably well and she's probably in. The problem for Ashley is that she's missing this week's tournament because of the sponsor's exemption she won into the LPGA Safeway Classic in Portland this weekend. So she gets to tee it up with the big girls this weekend at the possible risk of not being able to play her way onto the tour next year. She was interviewed on TGC last night and said (paraphrasing) that there was no way that she would miss the LPGA event, that she owed it to herself and the sponsors to participate. It would be ironic if winning the "Big Break" cost her the chance to earn her way onto the tour.

As you state, it would be a shame to loose out on one end, but I cannot fault her decision. She's played well, and has done more for TGC, than some earlier winners have. Regardless of the outcome, I wish her well in the persuit of her dream. Hunt
