Members of the city's Olympic organizing panel had said last week they were stunned by the news and that they would scramble to find a new location for the Games' marquee events, including the opening and closing ceremonies and track and field competition. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom said earlier that the city would abandon the bid if it "couldn't guarantee certain things." The U.S. Olympic Committee was also eager to avoid a repeat of New York's failed 2012 Olympics bid. Financing for the New York stadium fell apart about a month before the final vote, and the city didn't get near the votes it needed to host the Games.

I was amazed at the infrasturcture that was put in Park City which hosted the majority of the Winter events for the Salt Lake 2002 Games. INCLUDING (Golf-related content) an exceptional golf complex called Soldier Hollow where they held the cross-country and bi-althlon events. Play this complex! two 18-hole layouts that were phenominal and could be played for $27, plus, cart (you'll need it on the second 18). On Nov 13, 4:17 pm, "Kevin D. I'm sure the 35 people who watch the Olympics will be bummed out.
