What's the worst or funniest display youve seen on the course? I let
it get the best of me a few times, threw the club, beat the ground,
LOTS of bad words. I was golfing w/ my X, we kinda had a loose
relationship. We screwd around but I was still looking/ dating other
women @ the same time. So I tell her 2 days b4 our golf outing (me,
her, her cousin Ronny) I kinda met someone else. She plays it
off...... O, that's great. Well were golfing 2 days later, her heads
not on golf, she's hitting bad shots, just about in tears. Next thing
I know she wacks the cart w/ her Callaway 5 iron. The shaft splinters
all over. I look @ Ron, he shakes his head, what the hell did you do
now he says. I felt bad. Ron is a club thrower himself. I saw him
break his 5 wood last yr after a few (a lot) bad shots.

A few years back I was walking a muni with a someone on a cart. I didn't
know him. This fellow tops a 3 wood and proceeded to take a swing at the
cart. He hits the aft vertical, snaps the shaft with the head helicoptering
into the woods. It got quiet. Later in the round, after he calmed down, we
are in the fairway and he says to me, "Can I borrow your 3 wood, mine's
broken." He was joking. We both laughed and had a much better time after
that.

I'll fess up, what I've done and witnessed on the course;

I personally, have dug the toe of my irons and chippers into ground after a
bad shot. Ummm, knocked over a garbage can playing vs my younger bro when he
was spanking me badly. Ummmmm even tossed my driver into the same area of
woods I just finished driving my ball. Actually, I think my driver went
further.

I must say tho, all these things and yes, some swears and red faces, all
account to NOTHING!!!! this will be my 4rth year attempting this game. and
I finally realized it for what I want it to be. A relaxing, enjoyable time
out with family, friends and future friends. Plus a re-occuring learning
experience.

Oh ya. I also witness'd a dad, assumingly, HIT his son, also assumingly with
his club in the arm. Cause he was angry. I went so far as to offer help.
(the boy had tears in his eyes) And quickly reported the incident to the pro
shop. To which they said they would restrict him from the course!!!!

I thought that was a definite Fair Way!!

On the par 5 fifth hole of the course I play regularly on another
gentleman had topped his drive to have it dribble only about twenty
yards. He got mad and tossed his driver down the course about seventy
yards. His playing partner asked if that was his mulligan or second
shot.

Another time it was late in the day and as I walked toward the eighth
tee I noticed a club stuck in the ground. Pulling it out I found a
sand wedge. After teeing off the 8th and walking up the fairway I saw
a second club. Also stuck in the ground. This was a "rescue" club. By
the time I reached the eighth green I found another club and a head
cover.
I was wondering if I was going to find a putter stuck into the green
along with a hole for a ball. Didn't find the ball, but the putter was
wrapped around a small tree as you went to the clubhouse. I guess that
person was giving up golf for javalin throwing.

Hands down it has been any number of BK's rabid postings. I have never seen
that kind of conduct on a golf course.

It was one of those times you couldn't laugh. My brother hit
a bad shot in the fairway and kicked his bag. I didn't think
much of it.

We get up to the tee and he tees up his ball and takes a
practice swing with his driver. The shaft does one of those
rubber-bandy things. We were confused for a minute until
we put one and one together. It took every ounce of courage
I had not to break down laughing.

A fat assed, gaudy jewelry wearing, club throwing, mafioso wannabe is
the reason I visit RSG today.

First day as a caddy.
First time out.
3rd tee.
Club thrown at me.
Middle fingers thrown back.
Bag dumped out.
Last time out.
Last day as a caddy.

And the rest is history...

I turned and flung the offending
club in the direction of the golf cart and watched as the shaft
snapped in two and the pieces flew in opposite directions. At this
time I removed my snazzy, stylish, wide brimmed summer hat that I had
just purchased the week before, smashed it to the ground and stomped
on it.

Three putts later, I card a big fat 10. So much for the round of my
life.

It is a humbling game. Makes you feel good when you see Tiger wood hit
one over a building.... a mile off course. I will say I made the turn
last yr. I used to get sooo disgusted early in the in the seaon, but
w/ alot of practise I better. I got to say those big fat snowmen still
get me hot.

Funniest I ever saw was old friend of mine, better golfer than moi.
We're playing a course with lots of water...drinking more than a few
beers also...

We get to 16, narrow par 5 with tee shot over part of the river from
back tees, he's even par, hooks tee shot left of landing area, long hang
time, finally, kerplunk about 280 away..

He starts to throw his driver into the water, catches himself, places
headcover on driver, places driver back in bag, calmly pulls 5 wood out
of bag, pulls headcover off, and throws THAT club in the river!

I had to lay down on ground I was laughing so hard.

My last meltdown happened a long, long time ago. I learned my lesson
and don't let bad golf bother me anymore.

We were playing the Tucson National the afternoon following the final
round of the Arizona State Amateur Stroke play championship. Needless
to say, the tees were back and the pins were tucked. I made the turn
in 38, having the round of my life.

Teed off on 10, a par 5, with a perfect drive down the middle, 5-wood
put me with about a 80-yard pitch to a bunker protected green. 3/4
wedge was about 8" short of being perfect. It plugged in the bunker
face. All I could do was knock it loose with the next stroke where it
rolled back down to the bottom of the bunker. The next stroke I
managed to skull it clear over the back of the green. The next mistake
was not changing clubs, I still had my sand wedge despite the fact
there were some overhanging branches of a tree, although I tried to
de-loft the club as much as I could, the ball caught a branch and fell
short of the green. Disgusted and distracted, I again used the SW to
pop it about half way to the hole.

So much for the round of my
life.

Took a while to live it down, as my friends would always ask where was
my hat with the grass-stained extra ventilation holes (steel spike
days). LOL!

After a particularly bad hole on the way to the next tee I saw this metal
garbage can that looked like the perfect anger management tool. Either the
can wasen't as big as I thought or I should be an NFL placekicker but that
thing took off down the cartpath spewing its contents everywhere.

Picking up half full warm beer cans that are full of yellow jackets really
helps calm the nerves. :-)

I never let golf get to me like that anymore and it really improved my game.
