Tiger will go -3 the last 3 holes and force a playoff with Johnson.

Totally. "So I gave it my best shot today, but Jesus dropped the
ball. I mean, I showed up, I went through my paces, I put my game
face one and the J-Man was nowhere to be found. You'd think he has
nothing better to do than bask in my glory, but sometimes you get
screwed."

FTR, I like Johnson, too - he seems like a good guy, but the J-bombs
are completely unnecessary in accepting a green jacket for getting
your little white golf ball into the hole in fewer strokes than the
next guy. Completely inappropriate.

When someone makes a statement like Zach did, they usually are giving
thanks in a general way like he thanked all his supporters and
sponsors, etc. For being given the overall talent, health,
perserverance and opportunity to make the PGA and for at least one
chance to play in such a prestigious tournament, let alone win it.
And that he believes his faith has helped him mentally and spiritually
in his chosen profession.

Uh, if any name's a slave name in their case, it's "Woods," however
according to Earl, his mother came up with the name. It's just an old
name that's been out of fashion for a while. Since she's Thai, and
the name sounds anglo-saxon, she probably got it from a source such as
this:

I have no objections to the name Eldrick. Tiger is his nickname. I
am unaware of any law that makes a nickname a "legal name" just
because it has been commonly used for a long time. Perhaps
you can quote the law that does that.

Back in 97 or so, when Tiger first started playing as a pro, there was
talk that he had his name legally changed to Tiger. I assumed that
was true until it was pointed out to me that it never actually
happened.
Google it for yourself if you don't believe it.

I don't care if his name is Tiger, Eldrick, or Smurdly.

He signs checks made out to "Tiger Woods", so I suppose that indicates
that that name is a legal name of his.

AFAIK anybody can use any name they want to (including surname) as long
as it's not used fraudulently or illegally. Don't most of us here and
elsewhere routinely use our nicknames in everyday business? Even my
bank accounts aren't in my "legal" name.

So it's legally his because it is not illegally his.

Well, maybe. My wife used her nickname for her personal business
beginning years ago when she was in school, but more recently she went
to court and had a judge approve it as her legal name.

By that logic, one of my legal names is "cash."

I didn't say "the problem with being a post just to watch yourself

If someone's signature meant anything to me it wouldn't be Joonyer's that I
would covet. Now you, my guess would be you have a Woods poster on the
ceiling above your bunk bed and a crusty rag in your free hand. Your boy

I thought so at one time. Then I found out that the rumored name
change was just a rumor. He IS still Eldrick. Unless he changed it

This is the only thing I could find online, from Answers.com;

In August of 1996, Woods decided to quit college in order to play
professional golf.

Four months later in December, Woods celebrated his twenty-first
birthday. He marked the occasion with a legal name change, from
Eldrick to Tiger. Woods had been called Tiger by his father even as a
youngster. The nickname stuck, and Woods had always been known to his
friends, and to the press, as Tiger.

However, I've also seen it reported that this didn't happen....????

I must take a mulligan on my pick. I predicted Black Jesus would win
going away, but what I did not know was that eventual winner Z Johnson
had both his dead grandfather and White Jesus walking along with him.

I'd think White Jesus had other things he could focus on today, but if

Zach felt Jesus on his side. I guess Jesus made everybody else lose.

(I went to a year at Drake, lived in Iowa a bunch of years and follow
Zach. But it irritates me when someone says Jesus is the reason he
