Woods was interviewed on the show "Living Golf." While I respect
his game, I am not really a fan of his--until now. He was asked to
fast forward thirty years in to his future and what he would like to
be remembered for. His answer came immediately and with great
sincerity: "I definitely don't want to be remembered as a golfer. I
want to be remembered for the things that I am able to achieve with my
Foundation."

He was also asked if the birth of his child would mean a reduction
in his golfing schedule. He replied that he would most likely have to
reduce his tournament schedule. Between his commitments to his
sponsors and the commitment he will have for his child, and still
finding time for his friends, his playing schedule would more than
likely have to be reduced.

Well, I can only assume that this would mean a reduction in his
overseas appearances, since his PGA tour schedule is already at a
minimum.

He seems to be looking forward to the arrival of his child. He was
talking about the 2am feedings and diaper changes with a big gleam in
his eyes. As happends to most dad's, priorities change and he
welcomes the change. I got the feeling that if he somehow does not
manage to break any golfing records, in the grand scheme of things
there are more important things than golf.

Well, that's nonsense. There are plenty of foundations. But I think people
will be more inclined to remember a guy will end up with 20 majors.

You're correct in saying what people will remember, but not what Tiger
WANTS people to remember.

Please Tiger stated early on his goal was to win 19 majors. I don't think
anything he's done changes that. Honestly, all his foundation work is pretty
self-serving if you ask me. AT least Phil goes about his charity work
quietely. Leads me to believe Phil truly believes in it, not Tiger.

As I stated in my OP, I was not, up until hearing this interview, a
fan of Woods. Of course, his goal was to become the greatest golfer
of all times, as he stated very early in his career. This is the
drive that he has which is lacking in almost every other player on the
tour today that has gotten him to the point where he is at on the golf
course.

Personally, I cannot tell you specifically what Woods Foundation
actually supports. He definitely is not running around tooting his
own horn to anyone who will listen, as Phil also does not do; however,
when the press reports on it, they should not have to feel obligated
to downsizing their roles and the positive impact that their
respective Foundations and charities have on society.

What I got out of it was that Woods has matured and his priorities
have changed to things that are more important than what is, in the
end, a game.

My personal view of him has gone up a notch. Before anyone else
makes a comment, of course he does not care what I think of him. I
know that I will observe him in a different light. I still wish he
could lighten up a bit on the golf course, and I still distain his
caddy.

Please. When he was asked what his GOLF goals were that was his
response. Read the quote below.

" Woods was interviewed on the show "Living Golf." He was asked to
fast forward thirty years in to his future and what he would like to
be remembered for. His answer came immediately and with great
sincerity: "I definitely don't want to be remembered as a golfer. I

You can believe what you want, but that is what he said.

You must not have been following the threads here about Phil's and
Tiger's charities. Neither will discuss his unless asked.
