Subject: Winter scrambles

My home course has always had a Tuesday nite, 9-hold scramble during the
late-spring to early-fall timeframe. It started at 5PM which allowed
for the 9-holes and a one-club hole afterwards.
But of course, with the time change, that became untenable. The last 3
weeks of the evening scramble was becoming difficult for many, including
me, as it got too dark for us to follow the ball.
So now we've started a weekly winter scramble. 2PM on Sundays, to see
whether enough participation will happen to extend these popular type
outings.
Last Sunday was our first. It was a breezy overcast day in the low
50's. It looked like rain, and even the weather guessers were calling
for a fair rain possibiity. Well, it came off pretty good under those
circumstances. We got 12 players, split them into 4-3 man teams.
Payout was for 1st place, skins and closest to the hole.
Today looks better. Bright sunshine, almost no wind and temps to be in
the mid 50's by 2PM. Hopefully that will bring out more.
So what are your clubs doing for outings in this off-season?

We play indoor golf! :-)

Wimps!! ;-)
Well today's scramble came off. Same 12 as last week. I won a big
$1.60 for a skin, couple that with the $1.37 I won last week, and I've
got enough for a beer and 1/2 a brat!

We don't really have an off-season here in Georgia. At worst; it's a 6
hour drive or 1 hour flight to Florida to shoot 18 holes.

Daily high for today is upper 70's. Too bad I'm too busy to play... :(
