I do not know why the masters watered the greens for the last round.
Did they not want to break that +1 winning score record, or what?

Quite honestly, the grass looked very healthy. Nowhere near the
"water or die" stage. And if it died, so what? They close the course
almost immediately after the tournament, anyway.

As it was, i think it was a poor event to watch. The greens &
conditions didn't dictate who was the best player. If you hit some
good shots & had a great deal of luck, you might win. I said right
away they need to water it so it was playable. Obviously if they didnt
water it, the grass would have died.

I thought it was a great event.

Can't hit the fairway from the tee?----you're toast

Can't manage the course and conditions?---you're toast

Can't miss in the right spot?---you're toast

Can't putt?---you're toast

Can't maintain a good attitude when a "good shot" is made poor by conditions
like hard greens or high winds or cold temps?--you're toast.

It was a great Masters.

Look at all the different leaders on Sunday.

Scores were comparable Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

It was 10 degrees colder and a lot windier on Saturday. So scores were
worse.

Look, I (for one) think that the Masters caved on Sunday. Now I will
admit that the only shots I saw were those on TV, but on Sunday the
players were hitting the greens and stopping. When they hit on the
very steep parts the balls did react to the slope(s) but if they hit
on a flat part it stopped. This was not the case Thursday thru
Saturday.

It has not rained here for close to two weeks, even if it is cold that
bent grass needs some water now and then or it will die.

I assume you are being facetious. They were watering at night and
still had putts and chips running off the greens. Without water it
probably would have been unplayable.
