Our club prints competitors name handicap date on an ink jet printer we woud
like to purchase a laser printer but we are struggling to find one that will
not jam. Any ideas? The cards are twin fold.

It's not so much a question of which laser printer will do the job. It's
more a question of whether the card stock you're using is compatible with
laser printers. Most any printer -- laser or ink jet -- will accept card
stock. But some stock is better suited for ink jet, and some is better
suited for laser printing.

From my experience with card stock (and I'll admit, it's somewhat limited --
I don't do that much printing on card stock), I have found that generally
speaking, card stock that is "shiny" (glossy) isn't well-suited for laser
printing.

If your scorecards are dull (non-glossy) stock, you ought to be able to
print on them with most any printer, ink jet or laser.

Because of the irregular size, you may have to hand-feed them, but most any
laser printer will have a hand-feed slot you can stand there and babysit as
the print project runs.

Also, I would echo what John Pflum said elsewhere in this thread about HP
printers. I recently retired an older color and b&w HP laser, replacing
them with newer models. I've been real happy with all of them.

What about doing a good scan say in landscape and then see if you can line
up the print fields to match the paper/layout.... If that works then make
copies of the blank scan and print away.

I don't know how you can go wrong with HP. Though, you might want to
print the cards in color and I don't know much about color HP Lasers.
We do a lot of printing on card stock at work and our 5+ year old HP
works just fine. It will even duplex so you can print on both sides
without reloading the paper.
