Subject: Which Rifle Flex for me
I currently play Dynamic Gold R400s, which I quite like. I am going
to put some Flighted Rifles in some old FG-51s for an experiment.
Should I go with 5.0 or 5.5?

I am about an 8 handicap, driver ss of 97 or so. I tend to favour R
flex shafts as I am more swinger than hitter.

Thanks in advance.

I think the 5.5s would be pushing it for me. I am going to try to
sneak out to a demo day at my club tomorrow, and hopefully they will
have some rifles and project x in the demo clubs, and hopefully they
will be lefthanded. That may be asking a fair bit though.

I was gonna suggest the 5.5 shafts for him, but I'll make an even
better suggestion. What I did was to take three identical Golfsmith 6-
iron heads and install different Rifles in each of them. I had a 5.5,
a 6.0, and a 6.5 in them. Then I hit all three of them and went with
what felt the best. For me it was the 6.0. It was an interesting
exercise just to feel the differences in flexes between the shafts.
Most of the people who hit them (even the stronger hitters) preferred
either the 5.5 or the 6.0 shafts. The 6.5 shafts were really stiff.

'Rifles' tend to play stiffer than their rating,..if you are limited
to the two choices I would suggest you go for the 5.0. (4.0 to 4.5 is
their typical 'R' equivalent).
