I'll tell you what's wrong with the tour.
Two words: Tiger Woods.

The Oldest Member and I have excitedly been making our plans to go see
Tiger at the Tour Championship next week. And now Tiger withdraws. So
now, neither of us are too stoked to make the trip just to see Tom
Pernice Jr. or Jim friggin Furyk. Those guys are ham & eggers. We want
steak!

I think this illustrates the problem with the Tour. When Tiger is
playing, it's all good. But when he's not there, there is little
excitement for many golf fans. He makes the rest of the guys seems like
dubs by comparison. I never felt that way about the Tour prior to
Tiger. I always had a number of golfers I wanted to see like Norman,
Faldo, Langer, Pavin, Sutton, etc. If I was at The Masters I could
also watch the old guys like Nicklaus, Palmer, Player, Watson, Miller
(Johnny, not Barber) or Trevino.
Nowadays, there just isn't much to get me out there. Mickelson isn't
playing so Amy won't be there. I've probably seen Vijay hit thousands
of balls in person over the past 12 years so that doesn't do it for me
any more. And watching Retief Goosen play is about as exciting as
mowing my yard.

I may still go for the final round if I can score some free ducats. At
least the crowds will be manageable.

I'll tell you what's wrong with the tour. Two words: It's
participants.

The word "fans" can also be substituted for "participants".

Either answer will receive full credit.

You're a beaut. Here's my original statement, which you either
misread, or weren't able to understand.

What error? There aren't crazies around? Even if there are less now
than before, it only takes one to be dangerous. Doing harm to someone
of TW's stature is certainly a possibility, and he's wise to stay
separated from crowds. That doesn't compute with you? Oops. You've
already answered that with your earlier, fatuous, responses.

Your statement that I said "no" crazies was what was pulled out of an
ass. Yours.

From the four posts that I've seen from you on this forum it's obvious
that you make the proberbial Christmas turkey look empty.

Stuff it.

You mentioned Charles Manson, Kennedy and King, but the rest of
your examples were not here in America, which is where TW plays most
of his golf. We've has experienced a vast increase in attacks from
individuals, and gangs, on the citizenship in our country in the last

It would be the same if the players were named Nicklaus, Palmer,
Watson, or Trevino.
The only difference is that Phil might have a few less wins.

I never watch golf unless tiger is playing or michelle wie. It's not my
fault or theirs that the rest of the tour is composed of boring 9-5
types.

Completely agree. I mean, who can forget the finals of the
(inaugural?) WGC Match Play from 1999 featuring a
hard charging Andrew Magee and the crowd-pleasing Jeff Maggert. Good
