Okay, I've watched the "Tavistock" cup for several years now. It's usually
good theater and a chance to watch the top players in the world, but where
does that name come from. I did a google search and got:

The Tavistock group --- Some sort of real estate companies that talks about
their offices in China, UK, and lots of other irrelevant places.

The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations -- sounds very new age.

The Tavistock Country club (In New Jersey)

The Tavistock Institute (Something to do with Sigmond Freud

Wikipedia says it's a town in New Jersey or in the UK (near Dartmoor --
sounds very Sherlock Holmes)

A bookstore offering first edititions of Dickens.

So, who gave their name to the competition (My money would be on the real
estate robber barons).

Investment group out of England. And for future reference,
try .com'ing it. From www.tavistock.com:

Tavistock Group is a global, private investment company that was
founded 30 years ago by investor Joe Lewis. The company has grown to
encompass a broad portfolio of interests in over 100 companies in 15
countries, and has built a reputation for delivering extraordinary
returns. The company employs a simple investment philosophy looking
for value opportunities where its capital, flexibility, management
support and strategic hand can help deliver strong growth. Tavistock
Group has offices in Argentina, The Bahamas, China, European Union,
Mexico, United Kingdom, United States.

Lots of irrelevant countries in there. No money to be made in China
these days.

But you didn't ask, "What's a Greek urn?"

The answer is four bucks an hour.
