Subject: What you can learn from a shambles...
I played in a shambles today and shot a gross 74 with 10 girs and 2 or
3 birdies. That tells me that my tee game really sucks as I have been
shooting all over the 80's on this course (my home course) all year.
Our greens were fair today as they were aerated last week. But they
rolled them down today and they were suprisingly good considering. Even
still, it may have cost me a couple putts. I've got to find a way to
improve my long game. It's killing me. :)

In our case you take the best of 4 drives and play your own ball from
there counting the best two net balls for score. Our team made up of a
young +1, me at 10, a friend at 15 and another occasional golfer
limited to 18 shot a composite 21 under. The winners shot better than
40 under. But we didn't have any expectations of being competitive
anyway. It was a fund rasier for scholarships for our new Professional
Golf Management (PGM) program.

I actually carded a gross 73... but one birdie would have almost
certainly been a par without a mulligan. The other mulligan was not
played and hence not a factor in my score. I wasn't actually even
having one of my better chipping/pitching days either. I did putt
pretty well though considering the rolled down aerated greens.
