I am a Tiger Woods disciple...but let's be honest. Is there anybody in the known universe who really believes Tiger is a better athlete than LaDainian Tomlinson? If a great golfer is by definition an athlete then any great heart surgeon has a legit claim as an athlete. In an operation room, a heart surgeon displays all the mental and physical attributes of a great golfer.

But how good would his numbers be if he ran behing Gallery and the rest of the Raider offensive line? ..exactly! Again, no one would ever criticize LT. Now u may want to compare Tiget to Fedderer (sp?). They both dominate their respective sport. However, Tennis has historically had a player to dominate the game.. In golf, we have NOT seen anyone dominate the field in ALL categories as Tiger has. He's breaking records held by a 1/2 dozen different golfers from varying decades. Add to that, Tiger is now playing against true athletes in his respective sport where technology has made it much easier to "catch-up". Jack and the rest played against good golfers, but most were out of shape compared to today's standards. Tiger's long dominence (decade) def puts him as the top athlete. No doubt im my mind anyways.. -Hero > When Hilary Clinton suggested that the mentally retarded should not have > guns; she might have been talking about Otto. Athlete: a person trained or gifted in exercises or contests involving physical agility, stamina, or strength; a participant in a sport, exercise, or game requiring physical skill.

Show the link to whichever dictionary has the definition of athlete that you are using, and then we can discuss who fits the definition better. There's a sports talk radio who claims that Lance Armstrong isn't an athlete because "anybody can ride a bike".

I've never even heard of LaDainian or whatever her name is. At least golf is played over the world. "...a heart surgeon displays all the mental and physical attributes of a great golfer." Yeah, that's why you see so many great golfers performing heart surgery on the weekends.

Tiger gets tired and misses by an inch, it is a bogie. A heart surgeon gets tired and misses by an inch, somebody dies.
