After 2 months, courses finally re-opened around Denver. Since I
started playing, I never had such a hiatus.

My cardiologist wants me to work out every other day, so I didn't lose
as much as I would have otherwise.

I practiced on the range today - and ended up with a tired back
without hitting more than my normal. That's not unusual when doing
any activity after taking time off - but I'm not used to doing this
with golf.

By the time I got to my driver, I found I had a small slice that I
couldn't figure out. I could have got more balls, but I want to
start easy.

My course is covered with goose crap though.

Most people think Denver is some super cold and snowy city but it isn't.
This year is an exception. The winters in Columbus OH are usually more
severe than those in Denver. Denver is NOT a mountain city.

Really? How come all the mountains then?

Denver is not in the mountains. They're just to the west. Denver is as
flat as Tulsa.

I tend to do the same, both at the range and when playing. When I start
getting tired, my timing gets sloppy and I will start my downswing with my
arms and end up casting a bit. My remedy is to remember to "step to" my left
foot to initiate downswing.

If you are right handed, you are imparting a clockwise spin to the ball.

Open clubface at contact or an outside-in swing line at impact or a
combination of the two.

Get rid of the clockwise spin on the ball and you get rid of the slice.

Hint:

Hit from the inside out and focus on the inside rear quadrant of the ball
for contact.

If none of that works, address the ball, aim your clubface at the target,
then close your stance, hips and shoulders to the target line. If the slice
doesn't turn into a hook, close you alignment more. If it still doesn't
hook, close your alignment more.

Rinse and repeat.
