Nine holes!? It was won by a Horace Rawlins with a score of 173 over 36 holes. Would that be all at once or over several days? Four rounds of 9 holes in one day would be fairly boring I would think! They didn't play 72 holes until 1898 when Fred Herd won with a score of 328 at the Myopia Hunt Club, Hamilton WA. (A bit short sighted for a golf club name I would think). They played again at Myopia Hunt Club in 1901, and 1905, and 1908, and then got bored with it...they haven't played there since! :-) david
