Subject: The Absolutely Worst Golf Ball Ever Found
Found a ball in a swampy area when playing the other day. Of course it
wasn't my ball we were looking for - the swamp was on the right :-)

It was a pre-XL2000 Topflight. It was an "X-OUT". It had "USEDGOLFBALLS.COM"
stamped on it. And it seems pretty obvious that this company is now out of
business as their URL has been acquired by "GOLFBALLS.COM".

So here we have a true RockFlight era ball that was a reject. It had been
lost and found once, acquired by a (now) bankrupt company, and then lost
again.

Oh yeah - it had been sitting in swampy land long enough that it had the
color of VERY weak tea.

I do believe that this qualifies as the worst golf ball every found (short
of maybe a balata ball that is now mostly square or something). A friend of
mine wanted it as some kind of gag gift so I traded him for a sleeve of
Pro-V1's. Not quite right - I gave it to him.

Do you think he would want a few more just like it?!?!?!

Pulled one out of a creek last week and there was no way of reading
the brand. It had been there for a few years.

There is a little nine holer north of me that has a creek that runs
through the middle of it. A couple of years ago they decided to clean
up the creek so the course brought in a backhoe. I met the backhoe
operator a while later and he was telling me that they dredged up
multiple garbage cans worth of crappy old balls from the creek. I
believe it as the course is cheap and the creek is in play for 8 of
the holes.

Sort of on the topic. I have kept a few balls (and other stuff) I have
found on courses because of the logo or... One I found was a John Daly
autograph ball that was in a bucket of balls at a range. Another is a
Tiger autographed Titleist ball advertizing American Express. An Advil
ball, a ball with "keep you eyes on the ball" printed around a buxom
blonde and a couple of others.

The funniest thing I have found and kept is a long tee that was broken
and then fixed with electrical tape and then broken again. I want to
meet the cheap bastard that would keep tape in his bag to fix tees but
will only fix them once!

Sounds like the perfect ball for me to use when I have to hit over water.

This thing couldn't clear a mud puddle formed after 0.1" rain in the desert

Neither can most of my attempts over water, even with okay golf balls. :-)
