How many TV shots do you average in a round of 18 holes?

These are shots that you make and they are as good as the shots you see on
TV that make the gallery go OOOOH and AAAhhhh.

TV shots.

The shots that make you want to get back on the golf course regardless of
your score.

The next question is--how many TV shots does it take in an 18 hole round to
make you want to come back out for more(regardless of your score)?

That's what's tricky about golf. YOu can hit a shot that is equal to the
pros. You won't see any of us dunking a basketball while jumping from the
free throw line or running a 4 minute mile ... you know what I mean, but
every once in a while my mistakes cancel each other out and my timing gets
lucky enough to hit a pro shot. Elimination of bad shots is the key, no?

TV shots per round? One or two, sometimes none. I include as a TV
shot, the nasty lie, under a tree and draw around bend, that does
exactly what you want it to do, kind of thing that doesn't necessarily
look great, but you know just how good it was.

To keep me coming back, just one every now and then. This goes right to
the heart of golf's appeal.

I would call this a TV shot. Did you see that shot Tiger hit from under the
tree lakeside in the dessert? That big nasty punch duck hook? Did you see
the spectators bail out before the ball started to bend? It was beautiful.
All the shot did was get him back in the fairway but it got a ton of
TV/highlight coverage.

I did not see that, don't watch much TV golf, but that is exactly what I
mean. Of course my shot would not go as far or quite as dead on line.

I played with a pro late last year, just a pick up game I had two of
those kinds of things and I got a sincere "Good shot" both times. Never
happens with general population. Great feeling when hit one like that
whether anyone notices or not...

Does skipping the ball off the water onto the green (unintentionally) count?

Does the final score count?

It always counts but does it matter?

Okay, I should have asked if the final score matters :-) At any rate,
I would say that during a typical round of golf, I would estimate
pulling of a "TV shot" at least six times.
