I'm off to a 4 man scramble at my brother's course in Ann Arbor in a
few. It's called the "Longest Day of Golf". Hopefully not because of
pace of play, but because they set you up at the tips with really
difficult pin positions. 7400 yards. It rained for about 12 hours
straight. Probably going to play more like 8000.
I'm told past winning scores of this event are around -4, -5, so we'll
see what happens!

Well, we played only 10 holes before we got rained out. It was an
interesting and fun event.
The pin positions were not just difficult, they were completely tricked
out. There was a 3 putt max on the greens. We started a very
respectable -3 on the first 5 holes. They were 220, 409, 452, 423, and
a short 386.
There were several greens in which pins were placed in areas that they
would NEVER be put in a normal situation. Our first bogey was on a
shortish 410 par 4, but the pin was on a mound where when you putted up
to the hole, it would roll completely back to where you were (20 feet
away). It really made for an interesting approach on all of the
greens.
On the 8th hole we played, we had another green like that. I hit a
good drive, put the ball below. We had the first guy putt up about 6
feet short of the hole so that it wouldn't roll all the way back. The
next two missed the putts, and I got up there, knocked it 2 feet past,
it paused, then rolled backwards into the hole for birdie!
