Bye. It's been interesting, but Usenet sucks up too much time. Too much
silliness to wade through to get to the good stuff.

I'm tempted to call a few of you an asshole one last time, and assholes you
appear to remain, but what would be the point? You'd just have some pithy
Usenet-asshole retort to spurt into the Internet ether. Sperm in the
gutter, love in the sink.

Everyone play as much golf as you can! And try not to be an asshole.
There's enough of that in the world already without you adding to it. I'll
try to do the same.

Chris, Bobby, and others in the DFW area, try skottymac@verizon.net if you'd
like to golf sometime, as I won't be recieving on this channel anymore....

Froh, wie seine Sonnen fliegen
durch des Himmels praechtigen Plan,
Laufet, Brueder, eure Bahn
Freudig, wie ein Held zum Siegen.

Brueder, ueber'm Sternenzelt
muss ein lieber Vater wohne.

Such ihn ueber'm Sternenzelt!
Ueber Sternen muss er wohnen...

Scott

Well heaven forbid that people aren't checking with you before they post! It's
kinda nice, IMHO, that people can debate things without the nasty negative
posts and personal attacks your buddies generated over the years here; for golf
posts they "didn't like". No one has to read anything posted here, FWIW. I
would exchange views with W. Clark any day over Randy Brown for example. At
least you can disagree with Dr. Clark without getting bombarded with personal
insults; and actually learn something sometimes! People come here because of an
interest in golf and talk about what is of interest to people who golf. I see
no problem with that. Another kicker here is that the kinds of issues, politics
and religion, are being discussed more civilly than Brown. Dalecki, Greer and
the rest can discuss golf.

Don't be silly. I never tried to influence what is posted here one way or
the other. On the whole, you presumably are enriched by participating in
RSG, so please continue to do so. I am not, so I won't. I haven't found it
to be any less nasty than the rest of Usenet, but not more so either.

I have enjoyed very engaging conversations here and elsewhere on Usenet, and
I have definitely broadened my thinking as a result. I have also been
broadsided by folks who act as though Internet anonymity provides a license
to strap on an alter ego and swagger around the deck like Captain Ahab;
behavior that would lead them to gain quite a proficiency in the black art
of brawling, were their false courage to carry over into reality. That's
Usenet for ya. You have to take the bad with the good. Wait a minute - no
I don't.

I find that the negative outweighs the positive, and so I'm cashing in my
chips. No value judgment there. Certainly no ridiculously vain attempt to
influence others. Just a goodbye. So, goodbye. Shoot low, and I hope you
drain more than you watch leak by, figuratively and otherwise. I also
sincerely hope that you continue to reap benefits from your participation
here...
